Challenges and Failures of Health Fairs and Community Screenings

ANN ARBOR, Mich. At the Diabetes Health Fair there will be updated information and educational materials to help control blood sugar. Persons with diabetes and a strong family history of Diabetes were invited to attend so that they could receive information on diabetes health and wellness and get free A1C testing. Attendees can talk one-on-one with healthcare professionals that specialize in the treatment of diabetes, and learn about the best foods to include in a healthy diet. Despite a cool breeze blowing into a shelter at the park, both seemed to enjoy a healthier version of beans and rice together after getting screens. Although people with diabetes go on vacation, they never take a vacation from trying to successfully managing their disease. The Mercy Health – Cincinnati network of care includes five award-winning hospitals, senior living communities, primary care and specialty physician practices, outpatient centers, social service agencies, fitness centers and a variety of outreach programs.
