What is Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy? In most cases the lack of blood circulation affects diabetes in the feet causing severe pain that can come in the form of burning, tingling, numbness or needle like pinching. Diabetic amyotrophy is also known as Bruns-Garland syndrome [1-3], diabetic myelopathy , proximal diabetic neuropathy , diabetic polyradiculopathy , diabetic motor neuropathy , diabetic radiculoplexopathy , diabetic lumbosacral plexopathy , and diabetic lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy . The study included 240 patients, 74 with diabetic foot of neuropathic origin and 166 with diabetes. A diabetic is at a high risk of injury deforming their foot or leading, in extreme cases, to an amputation if it is not attended to as soon as possible. Both Type1 and Type 2 diabetes are associated with micro and macro vascular complications [1-4]. RESULTS Metformin-treated patients had depressed Cbl levels and elevated fasting MMA and Hcy levels.
Having diabetes for several years may increase the likelihood of having diabetic neuropathy. The results described in this report show that diabetic neuropathy in adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes generates significant reductions in the patient’s quality of life and a substantial economic burden both for society and health insurance. The doctor may test your blood pressure, heart rate, strength, reflexes and sensitivity. Deformities (such as bunions or hammertoes) resulting from motor neuropathy may cause shoes to rub against toes, creating a sore. However, even diabetic patients who have excellent blood sugar (glucose) control can develop diabetic neuropathy. Knee reflexes (P = 0.770) and ankles (P = 0.470) did not significantly change after the interventions. diabetic neuropathy, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, amyloidosis Multifocal mononeuropathies – e.g.
